About Lily

The Basics

I am a teaching artist based on the west coast and would love to help you achieve your artistic goals — however big or small. I started performing and loving the stage at two years old, and attended Professional Performing Arts school in New York City where I was fortunate enough to be trained by some of the best voice, acting, and dance instructors that New York has to offer.

Currently I love to sing jazz music when I’m not teaching musical theater, dance, acting, or voice. I love learning about my students and going with them on the journey of discovering themselves through the arts. There is no lesson too small — be it help with a community theater audition or performance piece or prepare for a professional audition.

I specialize in training for auditions, be it for a community theater or professional production. In the last eight years I have helped many students in high school navigate the all encompassing “Unified Auditions” for performing arts Universities and Conservatories, as well as summer intensives, for institutions including Interlochen, Idyllwild Arts, Walnut Hill, Pacific Northwest Ballet, LINES, and American Ballet Theater.

I know that navigating auditions for competitive schools is difficult and can be very confusing. I have years of experience guiding students through tricky auditions —including Unifieds — and always works to ensure that my student finds the right school for them. If you are looking for someone to not only train but guide you on your quest for improvement, I would be honored to have you as a client. You can reach me for more information at: lessonswithlily@outlook.com.

Exmissions

After coaching with me students have gone on to work in major motion pictures, commercials and print work. They have also been accepted into programs at: Interlochen Academy of the Arts, Penn State, UCLA, Pacific Northwest Ballet School, School of the American Ballet, Idyllwild Arts, American Ballet Theater and more.

Teaching

Since 2012 I have coached aspiring professional artists in the entertainment industry for auditions and career readiness. I train students in voice, acting, dance, musical theater and film for auditions around the country at performing arts conservatories, universities and for professional work.

I am currently a teacher at the Sierra Nevada Academy Charter School and I used to teach at the Shine Dance Center in Reno, Nevada. Previously I was a Director at the Performing Arts Program of the Brookfield School.

And I’m currently teaching adult dance classes at The Loft Theater Arts School for both Beginning Ballet and Burlesque Jazz. See more at loftdancearts.com and for info on guest teaching for adult sessions, please email me at lessonswithlily@outlook.com.

Experience

I attended the Professional Performing Arts School in New York City and have worked as a professional artist since 2005. I appeared in the Broadway production of Rent, recorded a full-length album, and have appeared in multiple commercials, print ad campaigns, and walked in several New York Fashion Week shows. I also do voiceover work for Comedy Central. I have appeared in numerous productions around the world as an actor, dancer and/or singer, and have expanded my skills to that of director, producer and choreographer.

In addition, I was on the revision committee for Nevada Arts standards and  enthusiastically sit on the boards of other arts non-profit organizations.
